Quick answer: The refreshed Remitly experience gives you more ways to send, simpler ways to manage transfers, and clearer information to help you understand and follow your money — plus new ways to manage your account and use Remitly beyond a traditional transfer. What’s available can depend on your country, account, transfer, and eligibility.

The way you manage money across borders keeps changing. Remitly is changing with it.

We’ve refreshed the Remitly experience to make familiar tasks simpler while giving you more ways to send and manage your money — from finding someone you send to regularly and picking up an unfinished transfer, to choosing from more payment options, sending to more places, understanding exchange rates, and following your money after you send.

There’s more beyond the transfer itself too, including new ways to access your account, keep records, refer friends, spend with Remitly Card, and make international business payments.

You don’t need to learn everything at once. Start with what you want to do below.

More ways to send with the Remitly app

Your connections don’t always fit neatly into one country or one way of sending money. Remitly is expanding where you can send, where money can arrive, and how you can get it there.

Send from and to more countries

Customers in Japan and Brazil can now use Remitly to send money abroad. New receiving countries include the United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, and Eswatini. Customers sending from Brazil can use Pix for supported transfers, while Bre-B provides another way to reach participating bank or wallet accounts in Colombia.

Send to people across different countries

A shared view of recipients can make it easier to find people you’ve sent to before across different countries. Eligible customers in the United States and Canada can also access supported sending-currency options within the same account. Available countries, currencies, and payment options vary, so review the choices shown for each transfer.

Choose from more ways to pay

Expanded options include Fast ACH, FedNow, and RTP in the United States, wire funding for supported transfers, and local methods such as PayTo in Australia, Interac e-Transfer in Canada, and Klarna where offered in Sweden. Apple Pay is also available across more supported journeys. When choosing how to pay, review the exchange rate, fees, total cost, recipient amount, and expected arrival shown for your specific transfer.

Faster, simpler ways to get things done

Some of the biggest changes aren’t about adding something entirely new — they’re about making the things you already do with Remitly easier.

Start with someone you know

Quick Send gives you a more direct way to start another transfer with someone you’ve sent money to before. If you have several saved recipients, favorites can help keep the people you send to regularly easier to find.

Pick up where you left off

Started a transfer but didn’t finish it? You may see it as a draft on Home, making it easier to come back to later. A draft doesn’t send money or lock in an exchange rate, so check the latest information before you finish your transfer.

Review and change your transfer in one place

For supported transfers, the Hub brings important details together so you can review and make changes — like adjusting the amount or choosing another payment method — without necessarily starting the entire process again.

Find useful information on Home

The refreshed Home experience brings useful information and actions closer to the start, including exchange-rate information, unfinished transfers, people you send to, and anything that needs your attention.

More clarity and control

Sending money isn’t just about pressing Send. The refreshed experience brings more of that information into view.

Understand the exchange rate you see

You may see relevant exchange-rate information on Home before starting your transfer. The rate available to you can depend on factors such as how much you send, how you pay, and whether an offer applies. When you’re ready to send, check the exchange rate together with any fees, how much you’ll pay, and how much your recipient will receive.

Understand exchange rates

Send now while Remitly watches the rate

Selected customers in the United States may see Smart Rate when preparing a transfer. Smart Rate lets you send using the rate you review before confirming, while Remitly watches for a qualifying rate improvement afterward. If the conditions of your offer are met, you may receive a reward credit toward a future transfer.

Get more guidance when sending a large amount

If you need to send a larger amount, start with the transfer you want to make. The app will show you what’s available and guide you through any additional information, payment options, or steps that may be needed.

Learn about large transfers

Follow your money after you send

Open a transfer from Home or your transfer history to see its latest status and expected delivery information. For cash pickup, “ready for pickup” means the money is available for your recipient to collect — not that they’ve collected it yet. For supported transfers, your recipient may also receive updates through WhatsApp. Delivery times can vary, so check the latest information shown for your transfer.

More ways to manage and use Remitly

Some of the latest improvements go beyond setting up and following a traditional transfer.

Request money or send without having every detail

Remitly has link options whether the sender or the recipient starts: a recipient can prepare a request with their receiving information and share it, or a sender can begin a transfer and send a link so the recipient can add their own details. Sharing a link doesn’t automatically send money — the sender still reviews and completes the transfer.

Refer a friend more easily

The refreshed referral experience makes it easier to find your invitation and share it. Eligible referred friends may receive a referral discount, a promotional exchange-rate boost, and, where offered, a transfer-fee waiver. Offers and qualification requirements vary.

Sign in with your phone number

Eligible existing customers may see another way to access their account: Phone Login uses an SMS verification code as another way back into the same account. Availability varies, and another sign-in or verification method may still be needed.

Keep a record of the money you’ve sent

Transfer history lets you choose a date range and narrow your activity using filters such as recipient, receiving country, or transfer status, then download a record. If you need information about one particular transfer, its individual details or receipt may be more useful.
