Remitly Business is now available to businesses across 23 European countries.

If you run a business in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, or any of the other 16 countries now included in our EU rollout, you can open a free Remitly Business account and start paying international contractors, vendors, suppliers, and freelancers — directly from your existing bank account, with fees shown upfront before you send any payment.

For Europe-based businesses, this matters for a straightforward reason: paying someone outside the EU has always been more complicated and more expensive than it should be. SEPA works well for payments within the eurozone. Once you’re paying outside it — a virtual assistant in the Philippines, a software developer in India, a digital marketing contractor in Colombia — you’re commonly back to SWIFT wires, opaque exchange rates, and bank fees that chip away at every transfer.

That’s the gap Remitly Business fills. Here’s exactly what’s available from today.

What is Remitly Business?

Remitly Business is an international payment service built for small and medium-sized businesses. It lets you pay contractors, freelancers, vendors and suppliers in 175+ countries from your existing EUR or local currency bank account, without needing to open a new account or subscribe to a monthly plan.

Unlike a bank wire, you see the full fee and the exact amount your recipient will receive — in their local currency — before you confirm the transfer. There are no hidden margins and no monthly fees. You pay only when you send.

What’s available at launch?

Here’s what European businesses can do with Remitly Business from today:

  • Pay international contractors and suppliers in 175+ countries from your EU bank account. Send in EUR or your local currency; your recipient receives payment in their local currency. Remitly Business in Europe currently supports 100+ currencies.
  • Transparent fees shown before you confirm any payment, with lower fees on every send, and bigger savings over time.
  • Competitive exchange rates with senders paying less and recipients getting more.
  • Free to set up — no monthly fee, no minimum transfer volume, no lock-in.
  • Fast delivery to most destinations: Send money from Europe fast, not in days. Delivery time varies by destination country and the recipient’s chosen payment method.
  • Guaranteed delivery — Your transfers arrive on time. If they don’t, we’ll refund your transfer fees.
  • Bank deposit and mobile wallet delivery where available in the destination country.
  • Real-time transfer tracking so you and your recipient can follow the payment from send to delivery.
  • 24/7 multilingual support in English and 17 other languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch.

Who is Remitly Business for in Europe?

Remitly Business is designed for any European business that makes international payments outside the SEPA zone. The most common use cases at launch:

Paying international contractors and freelancers

If you work with freelancers, software developers, designers, content creators, or other service contractors outside the EU — in India, the Philippines, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ukraine, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, or anywhere else — Remitly Business gives you a faster and cheaper way to pay them than a standard bank wire.

Paying overseas suppliers and vendors

For businesses with import relationships or supplier partnerships outside the eurozone, Remitly Business lets you make vendor payments directly and predictably, with your full EUR or local currency cost shown upfront.

How to get started

Setting up a Remitly Business account is simple. Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to your country’s Remitly Business page and create your free account using your business email. (Links for each EU country are in the section below.)
  2. Verify your business. You’ll need basic business details: your company name, registered address, business type, and tax or registration number. Remitly may request additional verification for some accounts.
  3. Add a recipient. Enter your contractor’s or supplier’s bank account details to set them up as a payee.
  4. Enter the amount in EUR (or your local currency). You’ll see the exact fee, the exchange rate, and the amount your recipient will receive in their local currency — all before you confirm.
  5. Send. That’s it. Most transfers arrive within minutes to a few hours.

Why Remitly Business is launching in Europe now?

Remitly has been operating in Europe for years as a personal remittance service, and has built strong infrastructure and regulatory standing across the continent. Remitly Business — the product built specifically for small and medium companies and professional senders — is now extending that same reliability to European business users.

For European businesses, the timing reflects a structural shift in how work gets done. Remote hiring across borders is now mainstream. Supply chains span multiple continents. A growing share of European SMEs, agencies, and tech companies rely on contractors and vendors across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East — and the payment infrastructure for those relationships has lagged behind.

SEPA transformed payments within Europe. Outside it, businesses have been largely stuck with the same tools they’ve used for decades: slow, opaque, and expensive. Remitly Business is built for everything outside the SEPA zone.
