The Role:

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Senior IT Lead to join a global team of System Admins, Infrastructure and Security Engineers. You are enthusiastic about working with internal customers while looking for solutions on behalf of the customer, communicate trends to leadership, act on observed areas for improvement, and have lots of fun in the process.

You will develop Remitly’s IT engineers through influence. You are experienced in leading technology and enjoy the challenges of supporting an organization with 24x7 responsibilities. You will partner with Operations, Facilities, Security, Engineering, and other teams to build an IT organization centered around empowering employees to perform their jobs without friction. You’re excited to learn new cloud technologies and not afraid to ignite change.

You have a solid grasp of Networking (Firewalls, Wifi, Switches), and Operating Systems. Security fundamentals. knowledge of AWS. Proficient in scripting, Okta, G-Suite, and Github. A basic understanding of Jenkins and Kubernetes is a plus.

What you’ll Do: 

  • Architect, design, evaluate, implement, and support IT and DevOps tools and services
  • Manage Network environments, AWS, G Suite, Okta, and AD
  • Lead IT (international), by setting technical direction, training and participate in hiring System Admins
  • Provide excellent support for internal customers by the customer’s expectations
  • Vendor lifecycle management
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Work with team members in troubleshooting and performing root-cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple requirements (PC workstations, servers, networks, databases, software products, VoIP, etc)

Who you Are:

  • 7+ years experience with both ITops and DevOps or 5+ years’ experience as a Sysops 
  • Are independent, motivated and creative.
  • Are passionate about finding ways to make great things happen and enjoy taking the initiative and savor having fun with the team
  • Have a understanding of networking and security concepts
  • Have broad expertise across different operating systems
  • Have administration experience with developer tools

Preferred Experience

  • Coding and scripting experience preferred 
  • Experience deploying and managing A/V systems
