Common questions about referrals

showHow do referrals work?
  • To refer friends, share your personal referral link from the Remitly app or Remitly.com. After your friend signs up using your link and successfully completes their first transfer, you’ll receive a reward to use on your next transfer.
  • There are no limits on the number of friends you can refer. You’ll receive a reward for every successful referral you make.
  • Your friend must be a new Remitly customer who resides in the same country as you to be eligible for our referral program.
showHow do I find my personal referral link and reward amount?
On the Remitly app:
  • Sign in to the Remitly app
  • Select My Remitly
  • Select Refer Friends
  • Choose how you want to share your referral link (email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp)
On Remitly.com:
  • Sign in to your account
  • Select Refer Friends in the top navigation.
  • Choose how you want to share your referral link.
showCan I refer friends who send to a different receiving country than mine?
On the Remitly app:
  • Open the Remitly app
  • In My Remitly, select Sending to
  • Choose your friend’s receiving country in the drop-down menu and select Save
  • Select Refer Friends and share your referral link
On Remitly.com:
  • Sign in and select Settings in the drop-down menu under your name
  • In the Sending to section, select Edit
  • Choose your friend’s receiving country in the drop-down menu and select Save
  • Select the Refer Friends tab and share your referral link
showCan I refer friends who send from a different sending country?
Currently customers are not able to refer friends who send from a different sending country. If this changes in the future, we’ll be sure to let you know.
showWill my friend get a referral reward?
Your friend will receive a special referral offer on their first transfer, which often includes a discount on their first transfer. Referral offers vary, including depending on the country to which your friend sends their first transfer and may change from time to time.
showHow will I know if my friend successfully made a transfer?
For security reasons, we cannot share details about your friend’s first transfer with you. If your friend’s transfer was successful, your referral reward will be automatically applied to your next transfer.
showWhat if I do not get my referral reward?
Please note that your friend must sign up for Remitly using your referral link and successfully complete their first transfer in order for you to receive the referral reward. If you believe your friend signed up using your referral link and successfully completed their first transfer and your referral reward is not available, please contact us.
