I already provided my bank and personal details at account creation, why do you need documents?
As a licensed Money Services Business, Remitly and its banking partners are required to comply with government-mandated verification requirements, which include validating customers' personal information. For your safety and convenience, we attempt to satisfy this requirement through secure, automated methods. However, when these automated methods are unsuccessful we may need to collect documents from you which serve as proof of an individual’s identity. A bank statement can provide us with additional proof of the security of your payment instrument and that sufficient funds are available for your proposed transaction.
