How do I cancel my transfer, or get a refund?

You can request a cancellation or a refund if your money transfer has not already been deposited into your recipient’s bank account or your recipient has not picked up their cash. There are two ways that you can cancel your transfer:

Remitly has made this easy to do from our mobile app and our web application:
  1. Go to the bottom of your Remitly receipt, click "Cancel transfer"
  2. We will ask you to provide a reason for your cancellation. Providing this reason will help us improve our service
  3. Once your transfer is cancelled we will provide you with a new receipt and also send you an email confirming your cancellation and your refund status
If you want to cancel by email or phone, we’re happy to help you. Here’s how:
  1. Email service@remitly.com using the email associated with your Remitly account. Include your reference number and the changes that you would like to make to your transfer
  2. Or call us toll free 1-888-Remitly (1-888-736-4859)
  3. Once your transfer is cancelled we will provide you with a new receipt and also send you an email confirming your cancellation and your refund status
