How do I send money?

Sending money is easy with Remitly. Here's how:

Create Your Account

  1. Select Join Now and create your free account at Remitly.com
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Create your password

Enter Recipient’s Details

  1. Sign in
  2. Choose a country
  3. Enter amount of money to send
  4. Select your preferred delivery speed: Economy or Express
  5. Select your recipient’s bank
  6. Select save and continue
  7. Enter your recipient’s information:
    • First name
      Last name
      Phone number (area code first)
      Street address
      City
      Choose state
  8. Select existing contact or Add Contact
  9. Select box for SMS transaction details to recipient
  10. Enter your recipient’s bank account number
  11. Enter reason for sending money
  12. Select save and continue

Choose Your Payment Method

  1. Select your account type:
    • Checking Account
      Savings Account
  2. Enter your bank routing number
  3. Enter your account number
  4. Select add and continue
  5. Review your transaction
  6. Your transaction will complete once you select Send Money

For new recipients you’ll need to enter:

  1. Your new recipient’s first and last name as displayed on their government-issued ID
  2. Your new recipient’s email address and/or mobile phone number
  3. You’ll be prompted to add their address and mobile phone number again later in the transaction process for confirmation


How and why do you verify my information?

  • For your security and to comply with federal and state regulations, you must verify your identity on your first transaction.
  • You only need to provide this information once and your information is secure.

  • On your first transaction, please provide:

    1. Your home address
    2. Your mobile phone number
    3. Your date of birth
    4. (Optional) Last four digits of your Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
  • We safely and securely store your recipient information to ensure repeat transfers are even easier and complete with only a few clicks.
