What is a Declaración de Pago and why is it required to complete a bank deposit to Colombia?
A Declaración de Pago (also known as "Declaración de Poder") is a form required by the Colombian government allowing international money transfers to Colombian bank accounts.
To send money to a bank account in Colombia, the recipient needs to successfully submit a Declaración de Pago form with their bank.
Here is how your recipient can complete this form when sending a bank deposit to Bancolombia, Davivienda, or BBVA:
- Bancolombia provides an online automated service called Abono Automatico. This Abono Automatico form meets the Declaración de Pago requirements. Your recipient can visit Bancolombia’s website and fill out the online form by following these easy steps.
- Davivienda provides an online automated service called Transferencias Bancarizadas desde el exterior hacia Colombia. This online automated service meets the Declaración de Pago requirements. Your recipient can visit Davivienda’s website and fill out the online form by following these easy steps.
- BBVA unfortunately does not allow your recipient to submit the Declaración de Pago online. In order to meet this requirement, your recipient will need to visit the bank and fill out the form in person.
- If you are sending to yourself, please contact your local BBVA bank to get more information on how to fulfill this requirement from the US.
