Why is your banking partner reviewing my transfer?

As a licensed Money Services Business (MSB), Remitly must meet State, Federal and our Banking partner requirements for the activities that occur on our platform. One of these requirements is to "Know Your Customer" (KYC). For your safety and convenience, many times this verification is conducted in safe and automated ways, by us and our banking partners.

However, in some cases we or our Banking partners are unable to do so and in these cases we need to collect a copy of your government issued ID and/or proof of address and/or potentially other documentation to validate your information.

If our Banking partner requires more information to verify your account, we will ensure that this process is efficient and get your transfer back on track as soon as possible.
